Re-Purpose: Men's shirt into a dress

We have a box in our closet of clothing that needs to be repaired. T had a shirt in there for more than 2 years because the pocket started coming off. I knew I could repair it, but I kept procrastinating.... and then I got a better idea. Why not make it into a little dress?

I followed a tutorial I found here. I cut off the collar and sleeves of the regular shirt, used a pattern I made myself, and sewed it all together. Then, I thought it needed a little extra cuteness, so

I added this adorable pocket. It's the first time I've ever done a ruffle, and I love it! I can see many more ruffles making their way into my life. So cute!

  1. Oh my goodness Laurie! It is adorable. I love it! I want to have a little girl now sooooo bad. Mostly so you can make her a dress. I don't know that I could do that. You amaze me.
