Cinnamon Applesauce Ornaments
These are some of my favorite ornaments on my tree because they make the whole room smell delicious! It's super simple too, you should make some-- either for your tree or to tie to neighbor gifts.
1 cup cinnamon
1 cup applesauce
1 Tbsp white glue
Mix the ingredients together until they form a stiff dough. Sprinkle your counter with additional cinnamon and roll out the dough. Use cookie cutters to create the shapes you want, and use a straw to poke a hole at the top so you can attach it to your tree. Place on waxed paper and allow to dry at least 24 hours.
I made these 3 years ago and the aroma is still there, though it's faded some. Might have to make a new batch!

I had no clue you could make those! Shows how uncrafty I am! Someone gave me an ornament like that years ago, and I have always loved it. It would be great to have a matching set, guess I will have to be squeeze that in somewhere in the next week.
ReplyDeleteWe made these tonight for FHE. The kids loved it. Not only did we do hearts and stars, but a cow, horse, butterfly and a gingerbread man. Such a fun idea, thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteFantastic idea. I love it! Thanks Laurie.
ReplyDeleteWe're making this today, thank you Laurie!
ReplyDeleteI have a recipe that's essentially the same, except you bake them and and then you can use them like potpourri. It makes the house smell divine!
